Co-founder of Kindercare Pediatrics

A Queens, New York native, Dr. Jay R. Begun graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in English/Irish Literature, focusing on the works of James Joyce. He spent most of his time at The Daily Pennsylvanian where he went from a beat reporter to editor, pursuing his penchant for writing and reporting at New York Newsday as a staff reporter. After studying Jewish law and philosophy in Israel, he followed in his father’s footsteps embarking upon a career medicine with post­graduate studies at Columbia University. He then graduated from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine, and did his pediatric training at North Shore University Hospital. He is the co-founder of Kindercare Pediatrics in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, and is an attending physician the Mount Sinai Medical Center, where he performs newborn nursery rounds and teaches medical students and residents. He resides with his wife and family in Kew Gardens Hills, Queens.
